Storage Space Sizes: How Much Can You Fit?

A comprehensive guide to BEAM Space storage plan sizes with real-world size comparisons, specific item lists, HDB and apartment equivalents, and complimentary box dimensions.

Choosing the right storage space is easier when you can picture the actual

floor area. Below is a detailed breakdown of each BEAM Space plan — how

big the space is compared to rooms you already know, and exactly what you

can fit inside when you pack items efficiently from floor to ceiling.

Our storage units go up to 1.8 metres high. Boxes can be stacked 3 to

4 levels high for safety, and furniture items are placed side by side

on the floor — not stacked on top of each other.

15 sqft (~1.4 sqm) — About the same floor area as a large wardrobe

Our most compact plan. The floor space is roughly the footprint of a

large wardrobe. It's a small space, but boxes can be stacked 3 to 4

high to make the most of it.

What fits:

  • 15 to 20 standard moving boxes

  • A single bed mattress standing on its side, 1 suitcase, and 10 boxes

  • 2 to 3 large suitcases plus seasonal clothing and personal items

  • Sports equipment (golf bags, bicycles hung vertically) plus a few boxes

  • Baby items: a stroller, car seat, cot (disassembled), and boxes of outgrown clothing

Best for: Seasonal storage — luggage between trips, winter clothing,

sports gear, students storing belongings between semesters, or anyone

doing a quick declutter of personal items. If you mainly have boxes and

personal items rather than bulky furniture, 15 sqft is a great starting

point.

30 sqft (~2.8 sqm) — About the same floor area as an HDB storeroom or bomb shelter

The floor space is roughly the same as a typical HDB storeroom or bomb

shelter — a familiar reference for most Singaporeans. It's large enough

to walk into and arrange items inside.

What fits:

  • 35 to 40 standard moving boxes

  • A single bed (frame + mattress), a chest of drawers, and 15 to 20 boxes

  • A queen-size mattress plus a small wardrobe and a few boxes

  • A dining table (folded or disassembled) with 4 chairs and a few boxes

Best for: Storing a room's worth of furniture and boxes — for example,

clearing out a bedroom or living area for renovation contractors.

This is a good starting point if you have some furniture to store

along with boxes and personal items.

50 sqft (~4.6 sqm) — About the same floor area as a walk-in wardrobe

One of our most popular plans. The floor space is comparable to a

walk-in wardrobe or a generous utility room. There's enough room to

move around inside the unit while organising your items. This is the

smallest size we generally recommend if you need to store significant

pieces of furniture.

What fits:

  • 50 to 65 standard moving boxes

  • A 2-seater sofa, a queen bed (frame + mattress), a TV console, and 10 boxes

  • Alternatively: a washing machine, a two-door fridge, a dining set for 4, and a few boxes

  • A full bedroom set (bed, wardrobe, bedside tables) plus a study desk and boxes

Best for: Storing multiple rooms' worth of furniture and household

items — for example, clearing out a living room and a bedroom for a

home renovation. Also works well for small business inventory, event

equipment, or e-commerce stock.

65 sqft (~6 sqm) — About the same floor area as a small bedroom

At 65 sqft you have the same floor space as a small bedroom. There's

enough room to place large furniture pieces side by side and still stack

boxes around and on top of them.

What fits:

  • 65 to 85 standard moving boxes

  • A king bed (frame + mattress), a wardrobe, a 4-seater dining set, and 12 boxes

  • A queen bed set, a 2-seater sofa, a wardrobe, and 10 to 15 boxes

  • A small office setup: 2 desks, chairs, a filing cabinet, and document boxes

Best for: Storing a large amount of furniture and household items from

multiple rooms — a good choice if you're clearing out most of a home

for renovation, or storing business inventory and equipment alongside

office furniture.

100 sqft (~9.3 sqm) — About the same floor area as a standard bedroom

The floor space is comparable to a standard bedroom — large enough to fit a significant amount of furniture and household items, with room to organise everything so specific items are accessible when you need them.

What fits:

  • 90 to 110 standard moving boxes

  • 2 queen beds (frames + mattresses), a 2-seater sofa, a 4-seater dining set, a wardrobe, and 8 boxes

  • A living room set (2-seater sofa, TV console, coffee table) plus a bedroom set (queen bed, wardrobe, bedside tables) plus a washing machine and boxes

  • A piano or gym equipment plus several furniture pieces and boxes

Best for: Large-scale storage needs — whether that's a major home

renovation requiring most or all of a household to be cleared, an

overseas relocation where you need to store everything, or a business

with significant inventory and equipment. If you have a large amount

of bulky furniture plus appliances plus boxes, this plan gives you the

space to store it all.

Larger than 100 sqft

If you need more than 100 sqft, such as for storing the full contents of a home or office, we can customise a larger space, up to several thousand square feet. Just

let us know what you're storing and we'll work out the right size —

whether it's the full contents of a large home or business warehouse

needs.

Complimentary Packing Boxes

Some storage plans include complimentary packing boxes. Our standard box

dimensions are:

45 cm (L) x 35 cm (W) x 30 cm (H)

That's roughly the same size as a standard photocopy paper box — the

kind you'd see in any office. Each box comfortably holds 15 to 20 kg.

What fits in one box:

  • About 20 folded t-shirts or a stack of jeans and tops

  • 2 rows of standing books (roughly 15 to 20 paperbacks)

  • A full set of plates, bowls, and mugs wrapped in paper

  • A mix of kitchen utensils, Tupperware, and small appliances

  • Files, folders, and documents from 2 to 3 office drawers

The number of complimentary boxes depends on your storage plan. Our

operations team will confirm the exact count after assessing your items.

Not sure which size you need?

The most common mistake is choosing a space that's too large. We'd

rather help you find the right fit than have you pay for space you

don't need.

Here's how to get an accurate estimate:

  1. Take photos of the items you want to store — include everything, even small items and boxes. Photos of rooms showing everything you want to clear are fine.

  2. Send the photos to us via WhatsApp, chat, or email at cs@beamspace.com.

  3. Our operations team will review your items and recommend a plan.

  4. If your items end up fitting in a smaller space than estimated, you can easily change to the smaller space upon move-in with no penalty — we only charge for what you actually use.
