Can I drop off/collect items from your facility?

While we strongly encourage utilizing our services for pickup and delivery, which ensures that your items are handled professionally and with the utmost care, we understand that it may not fit all customers' needs.

In Singapore, we now allow customers to drop off or collect items from our secure facility with advance notice, so as to ensure that the items have been prepared for your arrival and a member of our team is available to assist you. A handling fee or other charges may apply, which are described below. Please note that, for safety and security reasons, customers are strictly not permitted within the warehouse operations area and will be asked to wait to be served.

Self drop off and collection is not generally available in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the facility address is unpublished. This is due to heightened security procedures in this region, which are in addition to our high security standards at our facilities, such as 24/7 CCTV and security guards. These measures ensure customer items are as safe and secure as possible.

Scheduling

Please notify us in advance via Customer Service before visiting the facility to schedule an appointment, which allows us to prepare the items in advance of your visit and make the experience as pleasant and efficient as possible for all parties. At the time of your appointment, you (or your agent) will be permitted up to one (1) hour to collect/deliver during the hours of 10am-5pm on Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.

Third-Party Authorization

You may nominate a third-party ("agent") to drop off or collect items on your behalf by following these simple steps:

  1. While logged into your BEAM Space account, send a written request via our secure chat, specifying (a) that you would like to authorize a third-party to collect your items from our facility, (b) your preferred date and time, and (c) the list of items to be collected.

  2. The Customer Service Representative will provide you with your BEAM Space Customer Number and Collection Request Number.

  3. Submit the Authorization for Third-Party Delivery or Collection form with a copy of your government-issued identification.

Upon delivery or collection, the third-party should also be prepared to present official government-issued identification and sign for the item(s).

Liability & Important Terms

If a customer or their agent (such as an independent mover) drops off or picks up items to or from our facilities, our liability shall be limited as follows:

  • The customer acknowledges that they or their agent is responsible for packing/wrapping all items, including fragile items, to ensure they are fully and appropriately protected from the point of collection. What may be safe packing/wrapping for storage may not be suitable for the rigors of moving/transporting the items.

  • The customer or their agent must remove and return any handling materials that are the property of BEAM Space, such as pallets, strapping, heavy-duty padding, etc., upon collecting the items from our facility.

  • We will not be responsible for any and all loss or damage to items or personal injury that may occur if/when a customer or their agent drops off or picks up items to/from one of our facilities and all insurance shall we waived. Any liability for loss or damage to items shall lie with the customer or their agent.

  • We are unable to immediately confirm items received by us, as third-party movers/couriers will typically be unwilling to wait for us to barcode and list all items. Instead, you will receive an e-mail confirmation once the items have been fully received in our facility.

  • Your account must be in good standing and there should be no balance due, including final month storage fees, delivery fees, or handling fees, for items to be released.

Handling & Other Fees

A handling fee is chargeable to cover itemizing, labeling, photographing, wrapping if necessary, putting away, and/or picking of items. The minimum handling fee of $35 covers up to 30 sq ft (about 3 cubic meters) of items, while items that exceed 30 sq ft are chargeable at a starting price of $10 per 10 sq ft or part thereof. Extraordinary items requiring special handling or equipment may incur additional handling charges to be advised.

In the event that the customer and/or their agent requests additional assistance or material handling and/or packing/shipping supplies, these shall be fully chargeable to the customer's account at a rate determined by the BEAM Space. For example, shipping pallets ($30), stretch wrap ($30 per roll or part thereof), single- or double-wall corrugated boxes, etc. Where BEAM Space has stored item(s) on a pallet or used any other handling materials, those must be removed and returned to BEAM Space prior to collection from our facility, or will otherwise be chargeable.

Last minute cancellations (< 18 hours) or no shows will result in a charge of the anticipated handling fee, as we need to reserve staff and resources for your visit, as well as picking and preparing the items for collection.
