BEAM Space can store the vast majority of everyday household and office belongings — furniture, boxes, luggage, appliances, documents and more. A short list of items can't be stored, for safety and legal reasons. If you're ever unsure about a specific item, just message us and we'll confirm in seconds.
What you can store
Most everyday things are perfectly fine, for example:
Furniture, mattresses and home appliances
Clothing, shoes and seasonal items
Luggage, suitcases and travel gear
Books, files and office equipment
Sports gear, bicycles and hobby equipment
Business inventory, stock and documents
Every box and bulky item is individually catalogued and photographed in the BEAM Space app, so you always know exactly what's in storage.
What we can't store (prohibited items)
To keep our team, your belongings and other customers' items safe — and to stay within the law — the following can't be stored:
### Food and living things
Any food item of any kind. This includes dry and long-life foods such as flour, rice, sugar, spices, tea, coffee, canned goods and snacks — not only fresh or perishable food. If it's edible, it can't be stored, as food can attract pests and spoil.
Plants, animals or any other living thing.
Batteries and the devices that contain them
Lithium-ion batteries of any kind, and **any product that contains one**. Common examples include laptops, tablets, mobile phones, power banks, cameras, drones, cordless power tools, cordless vacuum cleaners, e-scooters, e-bikes and other personal mobility devices.
For other battery-powered items, please remove the batteries before storing to avoid leaks and damage. If you're not sure whether a device qualifies, just ask us.
Dangerous or hazardous materials
Firearms, weapons, ammunition or explosives
Corrosive, combustible or flammable materials
Compressed gas
Paints, oils, gunpowder, kerosene, petrol and cleaning solvents
Fertiliser
Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents, toxic waste, asbestos or any other dangerous, toxic or hazardous material
Liquids
Liquids of any kind
Items that leak, smell, make noise or vibrate
Moisture absorbers and desiccant / dehumidifying boxes
Anything that emits fumes, odours, noise or vibration
Illegal items
Illegal drugs or narcotics, illegally obtained goods, and anything whose storage is controlled by law
Just so you know
We respect your privacy and won't open your boxes. However, if we have genuine reason to suspect a box contains a prohibited item, we may inspect it and take the necessary action, in line with our Terms of Use.
