Additional wrapping for fragile or high value items

While basic stretch wrapping is included in our moving services, we highly recommend that fragile or high value items are appropriately packed. These items include, but are not limited to, flatware, glassware, televisions, monitors, etc.

For your convenience, we offer professional packing/wrapping services. Our rates are based on the specific items requiring the service, and are inclusive of packaging material cost, sealing, dunnage, and labour. When you engage our packing services, it ensures that the the item(s) will be properly protected and that, in the unlikely event of any damage, any damage claim will not be denied due to inappropriate packaging.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of guidelines for fragile items:

  • Ensure they are labeled as fragile on all sides, and let our team know of any items that require special handling.

  • Bubble wrap is generally not recommended, as (1) it is costly, (2) small bubble is typically the only one available and is not large enough to be sufficiently protective, (3) bubbles will "pop" as designed and then no longer provide any protection, and (4) is generally intended only as dunnage for relatively light items.

  • Ensure there is sufficient dunnage to prevent items from moving around within boxes/containers. 5cm on each side is generally recommended, but it will depend on the nature of the item.

  • Use heavy duty double-wall boxes where possible. While they add weight and cost, they will significantly protect the items inside.

  • Avoid thin plastic bins, as they are prone to cracking, particularly when stacked or in hot and humid climates (plastic and rubber often deteriorate or become brittle in this climate).

  • Ensure that items with a power cord or other accessories are packed in such a way that the cord/accessories cannot impact the item.

  • Anything with a screen should be protected with thick cardboard to prevent against minor impacts. Some soft padding can also be useful to prevent scratches.

Should you require assistance in packing/wrapping such items, just let us know and we would be happy to provide general guidance.

If you would like to avail of our professional packaging services, please let us know in advance of your scheduled pickup, so that we can provide a quotation, arrange additional time and/or manpower as necessary, and ensure that we have sufficient and appropriate packaging material for the items in question.
